Dona Nobis Pacem... There is Hope...

Begin each day with a grateful heart
Let the morning breeze augur a fresh start
Oh, there is hope... there is hope...
God, grant thy people a way to cope...

Besieged by nature's wrath
Let mankind find the rightful path
Amidst the baffling global climate change
Sadly, humanity is also placed in war-torn range
Too many souls perish each day... all for naught!

Freedom, once suppressed, is cause for distraught
Oh, there is hope... there is hope...
Refrain from going down the slippery slope...

Pursue that which creates harmony
Embrace that which promotes unity
Accept each other's flaws
Coexistence is a worthy cause
Every man will one day learn to let go of blame...

Dona Nobis Pacem!

Indeed, there is hope... there is hope...

And yet the world is more hateful than ever. I am sad that peace seems so far out of reach. Love your graphics however.

Have a terrific day Bing. :)

Bing Yap November 4, 2012 at 12:45 AM

sandee, i remain hopeful that one day soon we will attain the PEACE that we all so yearn...we all just have to learn to live and put up with each other...love, compassion, understanding- then this world will be a better place.♥

Susan November 4, 2012 at 11:21 AM

Nicely done as an anagram--it flows quite naturally, like a prayer. "There s hope" is a powerful refrain.

Bing Yap November 4, 2012 at 11:43 AM

thanks for the nice words, susan♥

Your poem reminded me of my favorite quote from Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace. "Pierre's insanity consisted in not waiting, as he used to do, to discover personal attributes which he termed 'good qualities' in people before loving them; his heart was now overflowing with love, and by loving people without cause he discovered indubitable causes for loving them." The character only came to this peace on the other side of war, though. What a strange world we live in.

Thank you for the hopeful and uplifting message... there is hope, there is hope, and there is! What a beautiful tribute to peace. What more worthy cause is there?

Jennifer Wagner November 5, 2012 at 12:32 AM

I love this uplifting write of yours. The repetition of "there is hope" is effective...when we feel hopeless, or near it, it's so good to be encouraged that "there is hope!"

Sherry Blue Sky November 5, 2012 at 12:54 AM

Bing, your globe is fantastic. So beautiful. I love your poem as well, especially the refrain of hope (after going down the slippery slope) - yes, I so agree.........lovely to see you posting again, kiddo! We missed you.

Love how you created your poem! Hopefully you are right - every man will one day learn to let go of blame!

Clever build! I really, really, like the scheme you employed.

I loved seeing "auger." Also, the move from "naught" to "distraught" was nicely done.

Thoughtful piece. The repetition worked great.

Sabio Lantz November 6, 2012 at 5:56 PM

Sweet poem.
Clever graphics and lay out.

Accepting each other's flaws is important.

But I have no hope that "every man will one day learn to let go of blame ..." and will always act cautiously knowing that is not true.

Bing Yap November 6, 2012 at 8:46 PM

laura and sabio, thanks for stopping by.

sabio, i'm not gonna give up on that one... one day... perhaps someday, man will learn from his own mistakes and decide to stop blaming others and take responsibility. :)

Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you decide to see beyond the imperfections.

"Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward to the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage and confidence." ~ Og Mandino

If I could wish for my life to be perfect, it would be tempting, but I would have to decline, for life would no longer teach me anything.
